Glockenspiel
A German Tradition For The Whole Family!
Milwaukee Glockenspiel
It’s a life-size, human-powered cuckoo clock — and you have to see it to believe it!
Inspired by the famous Rathaus-Glockenspiel in Munich, the Milwaukee Glockenspiel brings a beloved German tradition to life in a uniquely entertaining way. Instead of mechanical figures, real performers dressed in traditional Bavarian attire appear inside a giant cuckoo clock-style structure.
The lively and comedic performance follows the antics of German lumberjacks, or Holzhacker, as they dance, drink, chop and saw their way through the show — all accompanied by traditional music and the sounds of the button accordion.
A festival favorite since 1985, the Milwaukee Glockenspiel combines German heritage, music and plenty of humor into a one-of-a-kind performance that has entertained generations of festivalgoers.
When the clock comes to life, you’ll want to be there!
