D’Fröhliche Schuhplattler
Celebrating 50 years this year, D’Fröhliche Schuhplattler has been bringing Bavarian traditions to life since 1976 through Schuhplattler dancing, music, and authentic Bavarian clothing (tracht). The group has performed both locally and across the U.S., with appearances at festivals like Saint Charles Oktoberfest, and is a proud member of the Gauverband Nordamerika.
Wir Tanzen
Wir Tanzen was founded in 2013 as a sub-group of the German Cultural Society of St. Louis. It was organized to fill the gap between the youth and the Volkstanz groups and offer a greater variety of dance styles. Over the Summer of 2021, the group elected to branch off and form their own organization for dancers 21 years old and up. We have been privileged to bring Germanic culture and dance styles from Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Ukraine to our community over the last 13 years, from public events like Saint Charles Oktoberfest to private events and fundraisers.

German Cultural Society
The German Cultural Society Dancers of St. Louis brings the spirit of German heritage alive with the same energy you feel in a packed Oktoberfest tent— music playing, dancers twirling, steins clinking, and everyone celebrating together. Our mission is to keep our traditions alive, foster cultural understanding, and share the spirit of German heritage with the broader St. Louis community.
